Nancy V. Sheets, age 80, of Gallipolis, died at home on Wednesday August 31, 2016. Born September 2, 1935 in Huntington, WV. She was the daughter of the late Kenneth L. and Lura Ethel Roach Murphy. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by her husband, Ivan A. 'Abie' Sheets, by a daughter, Violet J. Sheets, son, Donald E. 'Donnie' Sheets, brother, Clinton Murphy Sr. and by a sister, Phyllis Burger.
Heaven has gained an angel; Nancy was the best mother anyone could ever ask for!! She was the hardest working and sweetest person anyone ever met. She never had a bad word to say about anyone. She loved everyone. She baby sat for many kids and continued after all of her kids were all grown. She always made sure we had everything we needed and most of what we wanted too!! She had the biggest heart. She was always fighting for the underdog, because that's who she was growing up. She had it harder than anyone I've known growing up and that made her even stronger. I know she's up there rejoicing with her loved ones that have passed before her. We are comforted that she's not suffering anymore, but our heart aches because we miss her so!! We love you mom!! Until we meet again!!
Nancy is survived by three sons, Michael A. (Carolyn) Sheets of Klamath Falls, OR, Keith Sheets of Gallipolis, and Paul H. (Ruthie) Sheets of Gallipolis Ferry, twelve grandchildren, Jesse (Nathan) Welch, Nick (Michelle) Sheets, Sara Sheets, Jamie Sheets, Gabriel (Laura) Sheets, Mike Halley, Matt Halley, Alex Sheets, Sami Sheets, Khloie Billings, Kylie Billings, and Bella Fisher, also surviving are seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Sunday September 4, 2016 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 6-9 PM.
Pallbearers will be: Paul Sheets, Michael Sheets, Keith Sheets, Michael Halley, Nick Sheets, and Alex Sheets.
