NONA L, WOODWARD

Nona Lee Woodward, 86, of Gallipolis, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at her residence. Born November 26, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois, Nona was the daughter of the late Owen O. and Hazel Brown Henderson. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George E. Woodward, Sr. and her great-granddaughter, Zoe Elizabeth Woodward, a sister, Lillian Bradley and a brother, Clyde Henderson.

She was a homemaker and longtime resident of Gallia County. Both Nona and George were members of Grace United Methodist Church. They were active in the farming community and served as 4-H leaders and were members of the Gallia County Cattlemen's Association. Nona was a past recipient of the Gallia County Soil and Water Conservation's Farm Woman of the Year. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.

Surviving are six children: Robert Lee (Jane) Woodward, George E. (Becky)Woodward, Jr., Scott (Fiance, Robin Wills) Woodward ,  Daniel Fox (Sheri)Woodward ,Nona Kimberly (Jeff) Canaday , all of Gallipolis, and Kay Lynn (Richard) Maciag, of Fort Myers, Florida.

Grandchildren are Kimberly Woodward Hatcher, Springboro, OH, Robert Lee (Megan)Woodward, Jr., Alliance, Oh, Jessica Woodward Mills, Gallipolis, George E.Woodward, III, North Dakota, Seth and Olivia Woodward, Gallipolis, Travis (Heather) Frasher , Columbus, OH, Angie Elliott, Gallipolis, Matthew Kayser, Pt. Pleasant, Rachel (Dell) Smith , Jackson, OH, Keith Maciag, Cincinnati, and Kevin Maciag, Florida.

Great-grandchildren are Brooke Hatcher, Colton Steger, Colton and Savannah Mills, Sarabelle and Sullivan Owen Woodward, Connor, Allie, and Aiden Maciag, Kennedy and Grayson Smith, and Charlotte Frasher. Nona is also survived by dear friends, Grace Hawk, Mary Allie, and  Joanna Mullet.  Special thanks to Mindy Allie and her other caretakers.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Saturday December 16, 2017 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Ray Kane officiating.. Burial will follow in Mound Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 7-9 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to Grace United Methodist Church, 600 Second Avenue, Gallipolis, OH, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O. Box 50, Memphis, TN 38105, or to Bossard Memorial Library, 7 Spruce Street, Gallipolis, OH.
