Norman H. Tarr, age 92, of Lancaster and formerly of Gallipolis, died Tuesday morning October 18, 2022 at the Fairfield Medical Center in Lancaster. Born August 27, 1930 in Orange County, IN, he was the son of the late Herman H. and Susie Chisham Tarr. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by 1 sister; Beulah Anderson.
Norm graduated from the Indiana Institute of Technology with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He also served in the United States Navy. He retired as Plant Manager for Kyger Creek Power Plant. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, and a very active member of the Gallipolis Lions Club. He also held memberships in the Masonic Lodge in Madison, IN, York Rite in Indiana, Scottish Rite, and the Shrine Club in Ft. Myers, FL. Norm was also an avid golfer and was a perfect gentleman on and off of the course.
Norm is survived by his wife, Anne Redman Tarr of Lancaster; 1 daughter, Glenda C. Hatcher of Gallipolis; 2 sons, Karl Brandon (Lynne) Tarr of Brockton, MA, and Stephen H. (Holly) Tarr of Millerstown, PA; 4 Grandchildren, Matthew (Tasha) Hatcher, Sarah Hatcher Brannen, Joseph V. Tarr, and Taylor N. Tarr; 2 Great Grandchildren, Chase Brannen and Jonathan Hatcher; 1 brother, Ronald K. (Rita) Tarr of Orleans; and 3 sisters, Virginia Risley of Franklin, IN, Dorothy Conley of Mitchell, IN, and Leona Brown of Muncie, IN.
Graveside services will be 2:00 PM. Saturday October 22, 2022 at the Fairview Cemetery in Orleans, Indiana with Terry Hines officiating. There will be no visitation.
