Paul Dean Porter, age 83, of Crown City, passed away on Monday May 7, 2018 at St. Mary's Medical Center in Huntington. Born April 14, 1935 in Gallia County, Ohio, he was the son of the late William Thomas Porter and the late Mabel Annabelle Lanthorn Porter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife; Mary Jo Young Porter; 2 Brothers; James 'Red' Porter and Ralph Porter and by 1 Sister; Ernestine Henry.

Paul was a retired heavy equipment operator. He loved to rabbit hunt and enjoyed spending time with his kids, grandkids, and great grandkids.

Paul is survived by 3 Daughters; Jenny Jo (Ronnie) Huffman, Patty Jane Griffith and Mary Beth (Jerry) Slayton; 1 Son; Jason Porter; Frances Johnson who was raised in the home; 11 Grandchildren; Paula J. Maynard, Lori Huffman, Paul and Mark Chafin, Josh and Beth Legg, Terry, Tony, and Amy Huffman, Bruce and Jenna Johnson; 21 Great Grandchildren; 1 Special Nephew; Wesley Shephard; 1 Brother; Ricky 'Pop' Porter; 2 Sisters; Nikki (Gene) Facemire and Violet Jeffers; and by several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and by 2 Special Friends; Matt and Debbie Wells.

Funeral services will be 1:00 pm. Saturday May 12, 2018 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Chapman officiating. Burial will follow in St. Nick Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 11:00 AM. until the time of service.
