Paul James Skinner, age 84 of Gallipolis, died Wednesday March 25, 2026 at Altercare of Canal Winchester. Born June 22, 1941 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Elmer and Marguerite Smeltzer Skinner. In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded by his wife, Rebecca Snead Skinner, a brother, Tom Skinner and by three sisters, Dorothy Stiverson, Mary Clark and Celestine Skinner.
Paul was a retired Vice President for Fruth Pharmacies where he worked for over 20 years. A faithful member of St. Louis Catholic Church, member of the Knights of Columbus and a former member of the Lions Club. He also served his Country in the United States Army. Paul loved spending time with his kids and grandkids. He lived life by the creed, Family and Forgiveness. He certainly leaves behind a legacy of Love and Kindness.
He is survived by his daughters, Michelle (Brent) Simms of Grandville, OH, Amy (Paul) Burghardt of Ann Arbor, MI, Cynthia (Mike) Chapman of Vero Beach, FL, Kari (Eric) Eggleston of Lancaster, OH and Teresa (Robbie) Harrison of Crown City. Ten grandchildren, Jack, Owen and Katie Simms, Evan, Paige and Bennett Burghardt, Harper Chapman, Cole Eggleston, Gracie Harrison and Ryan Harrison. Also surviving is a special friend, Terry Oliver and several nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 PM. Tuesday March 31, 2026 at St. Louis Catholic Church with Father Thomas Hamm officiating. Burial will follow in St. Louis Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 11:00 AM. until the time of service. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the VFW #4464 Honor Guard.
Pallbearers will be: Eric Eggleston, Brent Simms, Robbie Harrison, Mike Chapman, Paul Burghardt and Terry Oliver.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to St. Louis Catholic Church 85 State Street Gallipolis, OH 45631 in Paul's memory.
