Richard Stanley Ross, age 89, of Bidwell, died Saturday February 17, 2024 at his residence. Born July 22, 1934 in the Bladen community of Gallia County, he was the son of the late Homer and Josephine Martin Ross. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his sister, Dixie Henrickson, and by 3 brothers, Robert L. Ross, Billy Gene Ross, and an infant Larry Allan Ross.

Richard was a United States Army veteran from 1957 to 1959 and was stationed in Germany. His life span covered many years of working road construction. He was the owner/operator driving for the Ace Doran Company from Cincinnati, Ohio and retiring from Shelly and Sands Paving Company in 1996. He became a member of the Faith Baptist Church in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeannie Murray Ross of Bidwell, son, Richard Allen Ross of Newport, KY, sisters, Sharon (William) Cummons of North Hillard, and Carolyn Grimmette of Gallipolis. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 11:00 AM. Tuesday February 20, 2024 at the Swan Creek Cemetery with Pastor James Lusher and Pastor John Patterson officiating.

Full military honors will be provided at the cemetery by the VFW #4464 Honor Guard.

Pallbearers will be: Jim Kemper, Larry Howell, David Cox, Jack Angell, Wayne Angell, and Tom Angell.
