Richard Earl Trout, age 84 of Gallipolis, died Saturday November 22, 2025 at Holzer Medical Center. Born December 4, 1940 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Ruby Carter Trout. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded by his wife Barbara Donna Thompson Trout who he married in November of 1966 and she preceded him in June 2020, a sister, Sharon Trout who died at birth, brothers, James (Jeannie) Trout, Ronald Trout, Roger Dean Trout who died in infancy, Raymond Jr. (Beverly) Trout and Harold Trout.

Richard was a retired mechanic and a member of Patriot Masonic Lodge. He attended Promised Land Church.

He is survived by his children, Sandy Ross of Gallipolis, Lori Bochard of Vinton, Holly (Virgil) Wolford of Gallipolis and Brandy (Jason) Johnson of Gallipolis. 9 grandchildren, Dalton Banks, Ciara Ross, Brittany Bochard, Sarah Doolittle, Dakota Ward, Joseph Hubman, Jordan Johnson, Jeremy (Rachael) Johnson and Jasper Johnson, great grandchildren, Case and Remi Doolittle, Eevee, a brother, Mike (Mary) Trout and by 2 sisters in law, Hettie Trout and Ellie Trout.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Tuesday November 25, 2025 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home beginning with Masonic services by Patriot Masonic Lodge #496 and followed by the funeral service with Pastor Truman Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11:00 AM until the time of service.

Pallbearers will be: Dalton Banks, Dakota Ward, Joseph Hubman, Jordan Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, Rachael Johnson and Jasper Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be, Mike Trout and Virgil Wolford.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Patriot Masonic Lodge #496 PO Box 3 Patriot, Ohio 45658 in Richard's memory.
