Robert Richard Gillenwater, age 87 of Gallipolis, died Thursday October 24, 2019 at the Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. Born August 2, 1932 in Gallipolis, he was the son of the late Edward and Mamie Casto Gillenwater. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his wife, Virgie Marie Mullins, by 3 sons, Roger, Jennings and James Gillenwater, by 2 grandchildren by 2 brothers, Lewis and Carlos Ray Gillenwater and by 2 sisters, Norma and Linda.

Bob was a United States Army Veteran and a retired demolition contractor.

He is survived by 1 daughter, Debbie Aker of Gallipolis, 8 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren, 1 brother, Don Gillenwater and 4 sisters, Pat Savage, Geneva Rupe, Ruby Stewart and Shirley Thompson.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM. Monday October 28, 2019 at Providence Cemetery. Military Funeral Honors will be presented by the VFW #4464 Honor Guard.
