A 1981 graduate of Gallia Academy High School, Bobby attended Rose Hulman University for one year where he played football. After returning to Gallipolis, his father told him you will not drive a beer truck, and you will not go to O.U. Bobby did both.

Bobby returned to Gallipolis after the death of his mother and opened The Stowaway Restaurant in the Lafayette Mall. After selling his restaurant, Bobby became employed at Holzer in Gallipolis and then Advanced Technical Solutions in Teays Valley, West Virginia. Bobby returned to Holzer Health System in February 2016, as Director of Technology and Operations and was employed there until his passing.
Bobby was an active member of the Gallipolis Elks Lodge #107. He held various chairs at the local and district level. At the time of his passing, Bobby served as the Treasurer and a Past Exalted Ruler of the Gallipolis Lodge. Bobby was also serving as the District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler and State Inner Guard. In addition to these duties Bobby made his family’s spaghetti recipe for the Elks Italian Night, a tradition his father began. Since 2006, this function has earned thousands of dollars to benefit the Elks National Foundation.
Bobby also coached Midget League Football for several years, a program his father founded.
Bobby is survived by his group of friends, his Elks family, Holzer co-workers and cousins Marissa Smith, Marianne (Sam) Clark, Michael (Kathleen) Marchi, Scott Marchi, Russ (Ginny) Willis, Susan Willis, Libby Willis Koetz, Carla Willis and his Aunt Wanda Marchi.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Elks Lodge, Second Avenue, on Saturday, July 11, 2026, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Elks Service will commence at 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
