Ronald L. Trout, age 85 of Patriot, died Tuesday morning October 29, 2024 at his home. Born June 8, 1939 in Gallia County, he was the son of the late Raymond and Ruby Carter Trout. In addition to his parents, he was preceded by an infant great grandson, Michael Hunter, and by brothers, Jim Trout, Harold Trout and Raymond Trout Jr.

Ron was a United States Army Veteran, a member of Salem Baptist Church and attended the First Baptist Church. He retired from M and G Polymers as a Utility Supervisor.  He enjoyed woodworking and operating his sawmill.

He is survived by, his wife, Hettie Thompson Trout, children, Shawn Trout, Ronald K. (Karen) Trout, and Heather (Jason) Brumfield. Grandchildren, Kent Michael (Kari) Trout, Stephanie Myers and Jenson Brumfield, great grandchildren, Gannon Myers, Granger Myers, Brynleigh Brumfield and Blake Ritter. Also surviving are brothers, Mike (Mary) Trout and Richard Trout.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday November 2, 2024 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Pastors Mark Sarrett and Aaron Young officiating. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 12:00 pm until the time of service. Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the VFW #4464 Honor Guard.
