Virginia A. Blazer, age 87, of Gallipolis, died Saturday at her residence. Born August 24, 1926 in Lawrence County. She was the daughter of the late Otha and Mandy Watson Jeffers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded by 2 husbands, John F. Donahue and Garfield Blazer Jr. by 3 daughters, Bonnie Donahue, Janet Donahue, and Judy Blazer and by 5 brothers and 4 sisters.
Virginia was a retired private duty nurse's aide. She attended Bell Chapel Church and the Church of Christ in Christian Union.
She is survived by 2 sons, Mike (Marlene) Blazer of Vinton, Rick (Christi) Blazer of Gallipolis and a daughter, Vicki (Jay) Haskins of Vinton. 5 grandchildren, Mike (Angel) Blazer of Bidwell, Brian (Stacie) Blazer of Bidwell, Nathan (Jennifer) Blazer of Bidwell, Brandi (Jake) Cline of Gallipolis, and Brad Haskins of Cincinnati. 7 great grandchildren, and 3 adopted great grandchildren who will serve as honorary pallbearers, Elijah Blazer, Brianna Blazer, Morgan Blazer, Tyler Blazer, Noah Blazer, Dylan Cline, Ethan Cline, Prince Garnes, Drake Garnes, and Preston Banks. 1 brother, Manford 'Mo' (Norma) Jeffers of Gallipolis. A special niece, Rita DeVault, a special friend, Velva Mae Underwood and her beloved dog, Ginger.
Funeral services will be 1:00 PM. Wednesday November 13, 2013 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral home with Pastor Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow in Mina Chapel Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
Pallbearers will be: Jay Haskins, Mike Blazer Jr. Nathan Blazer, Brian Blazer, Mick Blackford, and Melvin Biars.
