Mrs. Virginia Rose James McKinney passed away Monday morning May 27, 2024 at home surrounded by her family. She was born at Eureka April 6, 1940 to Rush and Martha James. She attended church and grade school in Eureka and then attended Gallia Academy.

She and William "Bill" McKinney who survives her were married December 28, 1963. At this time, she was working in the Gallia County Recorder's office. After the birth of their children, she was blessed by being a stay-at-home mother for their two children who survive her, Valerie McKinney (Tim) Voelker, and Matthew McKinney. She is also survived by one brother Richard James, two grandchildren Olivia and Luke Voelker and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters, Daisy Sims, Charles James, Mary Elizabeth Lewis, Florence Ann James, Roger James, and Russell James. She is also preceded by daughter-in-law Sandy McKinney.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and will be greatly missed.

Services will be 1:00 PM. Friday May 31, 2024 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Reynolds Cemetery. Family and friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 5 PM till 7 PM.
