VIRGINIA LEE SWAIN

On September 20, 2026, Heaven’s gates opened and Virginia Lee Swain (nee Conley) left this earth peacefully and entered into eternal life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Virginia was born on September 18, 1936 from humble beginnings during the Great Depression, and built a life defined by devotion. She was a devoted daughter and sister, and wife to the late Jim, her husband of 57 years; a proud mother of three sons- J. David (wife Ginny), Stephen, Russell and ‘daughter’ Karen; a loving grandmother to Amber Leigh (husband Seba), Jim, Annie, and the late Kerri Lyn; a precious great-grandmother to Claire Eloise and a dog mom to her beloved silky haired terrier, Winston.

Virginia was a cosmetologist and for many years was an instructor at Ohio State School of Cosmetology in Columbus. Virginia enjoyed gardening (she loved her peonies), baking (especially during the holidays), sewing, attending services and participating in activities at the Bible Baptist Church of which she was a member before her illness, and watching Heartland on TV. But most of all she enjoyed and loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband Jim, her granddaughter Kerri Lyn, her parents and siblings.

Virginia: We love you and we miss you already, but we are happy that you are now at peace, and thankful that the Lord has called you home.

Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home assisted the family.
