William C. 'Bill' Hunt Jr. age 86, of Gallipolis, died Friday evening December 10, 2010 at Abbyshire Place Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born December 13, 1923 in Pughtown, WV. He was the son of the late William C. Hunt Sr. and Grace Reed Hunt. In addition to his parents he was preceded, a son, Jason Hunt, by 4 brothers, Walter, Gib, Pete and Jim Hunt, and by 1 sister, Mildred Roach.
Bill was a retired employee of the Gallipolis Developmental Center, and a decorated World War II United State Navy Veteran, serving in the Asiatic Pacific, the European, African and Middle East areas. He was a member of the VFW.

Bill is survived by, three Children, Andy (fiancé' Jean) Hunt of Hamden, Loretta Heck of Crown City, and Michael (Darlene) Hunt of Gallipolis. 8 Grandchildren, Matthew Hunt, Karen (Nick) Mead, Eric (Lisa) Evans, James Kinnerman, Kurtis (Jamie) Hunt, Travis Hunt, Dakota Hunt, and Shianna Hunt.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM. Wednesday December 15, 2010 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Alfred Holley officiating. Burial will follow at Ohio Valley Memory Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-9 PM.
Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the Gallia County Veterans Funereal Detail.
