William Matthew McKinney

February 21, 1967 – January 20, 2026

William Matthew (Matt) McKinney passed away suddenly at his home on January 20, 2026.

Matt was born in Gallipolis, OH on February 21, 1967 to Bill and Virginia (James) McKinney.

He was a 1984 graduate of Gallia Academy and pursued a career in electrical engineering. He was a former employee of Electrocraft.

Matt is survived by his father Bill McKinney of Gallipolis; sister Valerie (Tim) Voelker, niece

Olivia and nephew Luke of Gahanna, OH.    He will also be missed by dear friends Rob and

Laura Souder of Jefferson City, MO and Lee Holcomb of Gallipolis.  He was preceded in

death by his mother Virginia and wife Sandy.

Services will be held at 2:00 PM. at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral home on Saturday

February 7, 2026 with Bob Hood officiating. Burial will follow at the Reynolds Cemetery.  Friends

and family may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 1:00 PM. till the time of the funeral

service.

Pallbearers will be: Randy McKinney, Ronnie McKinney, Lee Allen Holcomb, Adam Holcomb,

Lloyd Sears and Rob Souder.
