William McKinley 'Bill' Peck, age 67, of Gallipolis, passed away on Friday May 10, 2013 at Cabell Huntington Hospital. Born September 7, 1945 in Gallipolis. He was the son of the late Mason Peck Sr. and Nina Hurt Peck Minnis of Gallipolis. In addition to his father, he is preceded by two brothers, Mason Peck Jr. and Aaron Peck.
A graduate of North Gallia High School, Bill retired from the United States Army after 23 years of service. He later worked and retired from the OSCO plant in Jackson. He was a member of the VFW Post #4464 and American Legion Post #27. He was also a member of the Buck Ridge Baptist Church. Bill is survived by his mother, Nina Hurt Peck Minnis of Gallipolis, his wife of 27 years, Celia Dotson Peck of Gallipolis, 5 daughters, Angie Peck of Dover, Delaware, Michelle Peck of Dover, Delaware, Michele Berry of Edmund, Oklahoma, Tanja Waddell-Renneker of Crestview, Florida, and Stephanie Peck of the Netherlands. 12 grandchildren, Devong, Taddrienne, Jamichael, Shakura, Erica, Jordan, Javier, Khalil, Kiana, Kailyn, Kai ,and Jordan. 6 brothers and sisters, Minnie (Charles) Miller of Gallipolis, Charles (Diane) Peck of Bidwell, Mary Armstrong of Bidwell, Cora (Bernard) Brown of Columbus, Emma Johnson of Hawaii, and Joseph (Courtney) Peck of Gallipolis. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM. Wednesday May 15, 2013 at the Waugh-Halley-Wood Funeral Home with Rev. Edward Buffington officiating. Burial will follow in Pine Street Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6-8 PM.
Pallbearers will be: Joe Peck, Joe Peck Jr, Dougie Peck, Jeremy Peck, Charles Peck Jr, Thomas Westbrook, Richard Hurt, Steven Johnson, Sam Armstrong Jr, and Zach Armstrong.
Military Funeral Honors will be presented at the cemetery by the United States Army and the Gallia County Veterans Funeral Detail Team.
